Here are the classes of characters you can chose from:

Warrior, the Warrior trains in hand to hand combat using many different weapons. The stats that a Warrior trains are Strength, Dexterity and Constitution. The weapons a Warrior may choose to use are Swords, Spears, Clubs, Knuckles and bows. They all have their advantages and disadvantages in what stats you get from them skill, speed and attack power.

Mage, a Mage trains in the use of magic using a staff. The stats that a Mage trains are Intelligence and Wisdom. There are three types of magic a mage can choose from. They are Blue magic, Black magic and White magic. They to have advantages and disadvantages in magic power and magic defence they add.

Warmage, a Warmage is a mix between a Warrior and a Mage. Most players in soma are Warmages because to survive in this game you need to be strong in both aspects.

Crafter, a Crafter makes items, armour and weapons. There are many differnt types of crafting such as weapons, armour, potion, cooking and assessors manufacturing. In many cases crafting can become very profitable.

You can mixes your character as much as you want. My advice is to try them all.
